Paradigm Inputs™ today announced it has secured more than $2 million in funding from NYA Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund specializing in food and agriculture innovations. The investment reflects a two-year close partnership between the organizations and supports the company's continued expansion across Canada as demand grows for more efficient and cost-effective agricultural input solutions.
The funding was deployed through a commercialization-focused, milestone-based financing structure, with Paradigm Inputs consistently meeting key commercial, operational, and growth milestones throughout the partnership. Since its inception, NYA Ventures has been the company's anchor institutional investor and capital partner.
Canadian farmers are facing mounting economic pressure with shrinking margins and few tools to cut costs. Paradigm Inputs was built to address one of the most persistent and overlooked drivers of that pressure: an outdated, multi-layered crop inputs distribution network that adds cost at every step before a product ever reaches the field. After two years developing a new supply chain model, the company is now expanding across Western Canada with a leaner, farmer-focused approach.
"Before products ever hit the field, farmers absorb the cost of excessive infrastructure, multiple sales layers, marketing programs, and overhead that does not add value," said Mitch Johnstone, CEO and Co-founder of Paradigm Inputs. "Many of these products are proven, off-patent generics that no longer need the same expensive distribution structure or support. We saw an opportunity to support farmers by changing the entire crop inputs supply chain and significantly reduce the cost of crop inputs, so we rebuilt the supply chain around farmer profitability, not around maintaining infrastructure that stopped making sense a long time ago."
The Paradigm Inputs model is built on three core business pillars that work together to eliminate unnecessary cost at every stage of the supply chain.
Three core business pillars
- Lean, efficient operations: By minimizing capital investment and optimizing logistics coordination, Paradigm Inputs has significantly reduced the cost of getting crop inputs from manufacturer to farm.
- Certified Premium Generics: The company exclusively delivers proven, off-patent active ingredients with decades of field validation, which are brand-equivalent formulations sourced from reputable manufacturers that are independently tested and meet strict quality assurance standards.
- Independent broker network: Paradigm Inputs connects manufacturers directly to farmers through local independent brokers. These brokers are ag professionals and farmers who coordinate orders and last-mile delivery, keeping capital out of the model and dollars in the community.
"Agriculture doesn't need more complexity in the supply chain. It needs clarity and efficiency. Paradigm Inputs has built exactly that, and in doing so, they've opened a new route to market that benefits farmers, independent brokers, and the communities around them. This is the kind of foundational investment NYA was built to make," said Shelley Kuipers, General Partner, NYA Ventures.
NYA Ventures has been Paradigm Inputs' anchor institutional investor and capital partner since the company's earliest days, supporting the team from the pre-revenue and pre-product stage through its rapid growth and market expansion. Beyond capital, NYA Ventures has worked alongside management to help build the operational and institutional foundations required for long-term success.
For NYA Ventures, the investment reflects the fund's conviction in backing transformative innovation at the intersection of agriculture, affordability, and rural economic development. Paradigm Inputs is creating an entirely new demand channel that aligns incentives across farmers, suppliers, and local communities. By helping farmers reduce input costs by 25% to 50%, the company enables more capital to remain within rural economies while improving farm profitability and resilience.
Just as importantly, Paradigm Inputs is addressing a longstanding structural challenge within Canadian agriculture. Traditional distribution channels are often crowded, capital-intensive, and difficult for emerging products to access. The company's model creates a scalable route to market that can accelerate the adoption of innovation while delivering meaningful value to farmers.
Paradigm Inputs is rapidly expanding its independent distribution network across Canada and working with growers to lower their cost per acre while maintaining high agronomic standards. The investment from NYA Ventures has supported, and will continue to support, the company's growth, enabling it to reach more producers, strengthen its market presence, and scale its impact across Canadian agriculture.
