Growth regulator containing 1-Methylcyclopropene for delaying fruit maturation in apples. Protects apples from ethylene effects, allowing delayed harvest period of 7-14 days. Benefits include improved harvest management, reduction of preharvest fruit drop, reduced fruit ethylene production, additional time for color and size development, maintenance of fruit firmness, delayed starch hydrolysis, delayed onset of watercore, and enhanced storage potential.
